Deep Hole Borer

We are currently looking for Deep Hole Borers/Finish Borers, ideally time served but not essential, to machine centrifugally cast spun tube, rolled bar, forgings & offset carriers to supply the Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Power & Petrol Chemical industries. 

Principal Accountabilities: 

This is a full-time on-site role for Deep Hole Borers / Finish Borers at Firth Vickers Drilling in Sheffield. The role will involve day-to-day tasks related to deep hole boring and finishing boring operations. 

Machining standard bored /profiled tubes and offsets, on part lengths up to 10metres long in a wide range of Stainless Steels/ Super Alloys and Carbon alloys.  

You will have the ability to:

Work safely throughout all activities in line with group safety standards and procedures.

•  Visual inspection of machined components.
•  Experience in deep hole boring and finish boring operations.
•  Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
•  Knowledge of machining processes and tooling.
•  Diligence and precision in work.
•  Strong critical thinking skills.
•  Mechanical engineering background or relevant qualification, but not essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
