Due to significant growth of Paralloy Group and the additional demands of the technical department we are currently looking for an additional Engineer to assist within the department.
Role will be primarily focused within the technical department, supporting different business units when needed. Actively engage with the foundries, machine shop and fabrication shop on a daily basis to monitor the product technical performance. Support shall also extend to quality and contracts department where needed.
Duties include but not limited to;
- Good basic understanding of high temperature alloys Fe or Ni base.
- Able to prepare internal material specification for new contracts.
- Own the technical know-how of centrifugal casting process.
- Good understanding of various casting specification such as ASTM A370.
- Basic understanding of casting quality including but not limited to Visual, Liquid penetrant and Radiography testing.
- Expert in mechanical testing of cast products and familiar with ASTM standards for Stress Rupture, Tensile and Hardness testing.
- Understanding of chemical analysis method and tolerances associated with testing standards.
- Provide support with metallographic testing for other teams when needed.
- Carry out metallurgical investigation for internal business units or customers and report the same.
- Supervise and manage casting trail, from charge make up till presenting trail summary to the wider team.
- Support casting inspection stages to make a quantified decision on releasing products for future processing.
- Understanding of static casting process.
- Readily available to business units for trouble shooting and improvement projects whenever required.
- Responsible for improvement project and be ready to initiate ideals that will promote sustainable product manufacturing.
- Awareness of virgin materials used in the casting industry and reverts classification.
- Support contract engineer with Third Party or Client inspection.
- Review of customer specification and Quality Plan, a high level of attention to details needed.
Ideally you will be educated to degree standard with metallurgy or materials engineering.
Ideally have some experience in Casting or Metallurgical industry
